DEANZ Trustees shall use and apply the income and/or the capital of the Trust Fund for Charitable Purposes, and to advance the education interests of the deaf and hearing impaired learners in New Zealand.

DEANZ is working on a National Plan for deaf and hearing impaired learners within New Zealand. The National Plan is based on a set of principles adopted by the DEANZ Trustees.

The full set of principles can be found within the DEANZ National Principles PDF.

Since 2002 DEANZ has been working with members of the deaf education community to explore ways to implement the Principles of the National Plan. In the process a number of documents have been produced which are available on this website.
